Welcome!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog. I thought as my first post I would explain how this blog came about and perhaps some of the reasons behind the name.

As most of you know, the past few months I have been struggling with my health quite a bit. A few weeks after being home and still struggling with my health and all of the emotions it was bringing with it, my mom suggested that I write a weekly letter to the missionaries I know out in the field, both family members and just good family friends. I thought it was a nice idea, but wasn't quite up to the task at the time. As I continued on my path to healing and recovery, I thought one day, that maybe I should start writing that weekly letter. My thoughts continued to other people with whom I would like to share it with. I started by thinking that I could just email it to them. However, there are times when I have gotten an email that I would like to read, but it comes at the wrong time and is then considered more of a nuisance. To avoid this, I thought perhaps I could start a blog. Then whoever of my friends and family wanted to read it could, and could do it at their leisure. Plus, if I share these thoughts in blog format, not only can I get feedback from you all on them, but others can share too. I have had my fears about doing this, blogging just didn't seem like a very Carissa thing to do, but I decided it was worth a try. My hope for this blog is that as I bring up things I am learning or thinking of, that we, together, can exchange ideas, thoughts, knowledge, and come out of it with more than I alone could offer. With that being said, let me and others know what you are thinking about what I said, or left out. Let's all be friends and share our ideas to enrich each others thinking and lives.

Now to address the title. I kept thinking about what to call my blog, but wasn't getting anywhere. I asked a friend about it so we brainstormed together for a few minutes and then continued our conversation. We both decided that somehow the title needed to represent me and my mission with the blog without being too serious. I was thinking "Holy Lacy, how am I going to do all of that?" It just didn't seem possible. Needless to say, I finally came up with something. I have a fetish of sorts for sweaters, I love them and wear them all year round. Yes, that does include the hot Arizona summers. As for wool, it serves a dual purpose in the title. One is it represents an affinity I have for sheep. In addition, I have found that wool sweaters can be both soft or irritating, but are always worth it. Somehow, at least to me, this combination represents not only me, but also where I want to go with this new blog. If my explanation doesn't make sense, perhaps it will be more understandable as time passes and we both come to know my blog better.
